The Development of Computerized Publishing from 1990 to 1999

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate changes in the reproduction systems of pubulishing in Japan over the last ten years.

The main focus was on the impact of intoroducing computer systems for writing, editing and producing books and magazines.

The systems include the development of Japanese language Word processors intoroduction of Apple computers with DTP systems for editing and designing, computerized electronic pre-press systems for printing industry to make digitalized formats of Japanese characters and other print element.
