Abstract
Takayama evergreen coniferous forest (TKC) site was established by 21st century COE Program of Gifu university: Satellite ecology, and located in the east of Takayama city, Gifu, Japan. The observed soil water content and precipitation over the forest was analyzed to evaluate the interception of the forest. The precipitation events of warm season in 2006 that the soil water change at lowest observation(40cm) was not recognized were analyzed. The average interception rate is obtained as 22%, which is well correspondent to the results of the rainfall observation under forest. The soil water observation is easy to set up and maintain. It may be good for long term observation.
