Abstract
A severe river bank erosion that occured in the Jamuna river at Khokshabari, Sirajganj District, Bangladesh in July 2007 is reported. This can be considered as a part of the westward histrical migration of the Jamuna river route. On the other hand, possible effects of some artificial structures on the variation of the river flow are also needed to be clarified. It is concerned that the Jamuna may confluent with the Ichamoti after 2008.
