Abstract

The core satellite of the Global Precipitation Measurment (GPM) project will be launched in 2013 with a Dual-frequency Precipitation Radar (DPR) on board. Retrieval algorithm for DPR is under development with collaboration between Japan and US. This study quantitatively examines the role of surface reference technique in a primitive retrieval algorithm for DPR.
