Abstract
Taking the catastrophic inundation in the Chao Phraya River basin, of which the flooding in the Bangkok Megalopolis was reported as big news, we analyzed functions of flood storage by paddies to lessen damage in urban areas. As a result, based on concrete figures of those functions, top-rated irrigation paddies, surrounded by roads and levees, played an important role for decreasing damage in Bangkok areas.
