An attempt to improve a rainfall-runoff-inundation model to create a virtual experimental environment for planned inundation

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to incooperate (1) a function to separate the left and right dikes of a river and (2) a function to change the bank height with time under arbitrary conditions, in order to verify the effect of "flow-through typed retarding basin" using the RRI model. As a result, we could imporve the RRI model to reproduce the effect of a "flow-through typed retarding basin" by adding the functions of left-right bank separation and automatic selection of water exchange cells, and to reproduce overflows from one side of the river dikes.
