The imperative pursuit of sustainable energy solutions in an era of rapid population growth and environmental concerns, hydropower projects are expected to integrate flood control functions. However, initial hydropower site selection often prioritizes limited techno-economic considerations for potential site estimation. Therefore, integrating flood control during the site selection stage is necessary to ensure a reduction in flooding risks and contribute to community safety. This study focuses on the Citarum River Basin in Indonesia, utilizing a framework integrating geospatial data and hydrological modeling to maximize power generation, evaluate flood risk reduction, and assess optimal hydropower site potential. Initial findings highlight key parameters for power generation optimization and identify flood-prone areas. Further analysis aims to quantify the economic value of infrastructure damage and determine the optimal potential of potential hydropower sites, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive assessment in energy and flood management strategies.
