Abstract
Saga Prefecture Library holds massive documents of Saga-Han Government in the Edo period. Among them, there are financial annual reports on the accounting section of one hundred volumes from 1725 to 1857. I accomplished to make transcription and digitization of them in May 2001.
In processing digitization, I have tried to take out metadata elements from the original materials. They are a set of information resources, and I have made a table of collective description for 24 metadata elements chronologically from 1725 to 1857. Also I tried to put explanatory about text file of transcription and structured table on the revenue and expenditure.
My article is the issue that the metadata elements description is one of the means of guarantee on authenticity, reliability and preservation (or representation) on both original and digitized materials.
