Project of "Community based Stroke Management" and Stroke Management IT System Stroke Team Performed Stroke Education to Community(<Special Issue>The Challenge to Medical Information Systems)

Abstract

To promote improvement of the quality of stroke care, the stroke team at Sunagawa City Medical Center (SCMC) provides various services. Stroke team consists of neurosurgeons, a neurologist, experienced nurses, physiotherapists, a speech therapist and case workers. The stroke team performed stroke education to community, general doctors, medical co-workers and rescue team. Stroke education derived early treatment of stroke, increased t-PA treated patients and improvement of mRS. Stroke management IT system (DASCH Pro) assisted improvement of stroke care.
