Abstract

Social-media software is effective in collecting innovative ideas from various sources; its drawback is in the difficulties faced in controlling its requirements. To preclude a divergence of requirements, a control mechanism is required when using social media for business process management (BPM). My hypothesis was that we could build a goal-oriented key performance indicator-sharing system as a control mechanism for social BPM. An evaluation using a modeled company shows that this trial system and its development process are effective in maintaining communication among BPM stakeholders. My hypothesis is thus proved correct, and this study pinpoints another problem inherent in social BPM: the standardization of related processes.
