Abstract

We have hoped for students to learn knowledge and skills to utilize information and communication technology. For this purpose, it is important to find students who are likely to drop behind in the information tutorial class in the early stage. We made a questionnaire to examine collage students’ weak points on computer use and information tutorials just after entrance into collage and before graduation. As a result of our analysis, we would like to introduce one hypothesis: we could identify the students who are likely to drop behind in the class by focusing on Excel skills. To examine this hypothesis, we made class improvements focused on Excel skills in an information tutorial class, and many students' skills improved. Furthermore, more students came to register for other ICT classes after this class.
