Abstract
With University-based professional education soon to be commenced in the new law schools of Japan, comparisons are inevitable between the practical training to be offered there, and that found in US law schools. After reviewing the tradition of pratical training within the Common law, the origin of the USlaw school, and the position of moot court as an element of law school training, this note suggests that an American-led revolution in Japanese legal training may take some time to materialize.
