Abstract
General histology, gastric vessels by angiography and the nervous tissues of the linear gastric ulcer were studied.
As for the clinical and roentogenological observations of the linear gastric ulcer, anthor's colleagues Suzuki and Takematsu have already reported that its characteristic feature is the presence of the atrophy of pyloric sinus aside from the presence of liner ulcer. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the causes of this atrophy of pyoric sinus in addition to the general histological investigations. Findings of the present study was as follows:
1. Gastris of the pyloric sinus of linear ulcer is extremely sever, but without any characteristics. Thus, it is difficult to attribute this gastritis alone to the cause of the atrophy of pyloric sinus.
2. Disorders of the vascular system too are difficult to be regarded as the cause of the atrophy of pyloric sinus.
3. Expecting to obtain some answer, careful histological investigations were made on the nervous system, but the result was negative.
4. On the contrary, gastric artery and reticular artery were found to have right and left sides, and their distribution from two sides was found to be quite rational phenomenon.
