Abstract
In order to investigate the curative effect of iron sulfate made of inert resin (as fero-gradumet) on iron deficiency anemia, 105-315 mg of iron sulfate (1-3 tablets) were daily given to 14 cases with the disease. Remarkable improvement of erythrocyte count, hemoglobin concentration and serum iron level were seen by the oral administration of this preparation.
There were no difference in therapeutic effect between the group treated with 105 mg and 315 mg of dosis. One hundred and five mg dose (one tablet) is considered to be satisfactory unless the grade of anemia is severe. None of 14 cases showed side effects with this preparation after the long term administration.
