Abstract
The β-Glucuronidase in serum, urine and tissue from patients of various diseases was studied by means of the technique of starch zone electrophoresis.
The following results were obtained.
1. The electrophoretic patterns of β-Glucuronidase in the tissue of prostatic cancer, bladder cancer and renal carcinoma showed the highest activity at the second peak. Air the patterns were similar.
2. The electrophoretic patterns of β-Glucuronidase in the tissue of testicular tumor (seminoma) was most active at the third peak. At the same time it suggested that seminoma would be benign rather than malignant.
3. In sera, β-Glucuronidase activity was very low in all peaks of the electrophoretic patterns in all specimens. On the contrary, the patterns of the urine ran parallel to those of the tissue.
4. The existence of isozvme of β-Glucuronidase was positive.
