Abstract
Nicardipine, Ca++antagonist, which has a dilatatory effect on cerebral vessels, caused flattened or inverted T waves on the ECG's of bedridden elderly patients. Nicardipine decreased systolic blood pressure and increased heart rate. These effects may be related to T wave changes in bedridden elderly patients. Therefore, when dosing each patient with this drug, clinicians should be careful to always monitor and follow up on blood pressure, heart rate and ECG changes.
