Abstract
Scientist worldwide agrees global warming is caused by worldwide impact of greenhouse gases (GHG) attributable from everyday human activities including material mining for manufacturing process. Regardless, Malaysia sold 628,239 new vehicle units by the end of year 2012 with total numbers of vehicles on the Malaysian roads exceeds 22 million. Only about 8000 vehicles is New Generation Vehicles (NGV), and only 51,364 vehicles is equipped with Alternative-Hybrid system. Surprisingly, systematic vehicle recycling is still in its infancy. This has prompted the government to seek solutions in order to reduce the environmental impact of transportation. One of it is by replacing old vehicles introduction of environmentally friendly policies, and promoting vehicle recycling in-line with developed nations. This paper is the first step which aims to model the vehicle population in the next two dacades using Multiple Input-Multiple Output and statistical calculation method with utilization of Cohort Modeling Method. The outcome of this simulation can be used to calculate the utilization of materials and promote vehicle materials recycling activities.
