Study of PP Sorting method from ASR for use as recycled material for vehicle parts

Abstract

Plastics in Automobile Shredder Residue (ASR) is expected to use as recycled material. This report is about recycle study of plastics in ASR, aiming to use for vehicle parts.

1^st sorting is done in Shredding Company, sorting mix plastics from ASR. We investigate PP concentration and collection volume in mix plastics, depend on the method of each Shredding company. After that, depend on the result of 1^st sorting, we select sorting method as 2^nd sorting. Finally, we evaluate of mechanical properties of the plastic pellet of after 2^nd sorting. As a result, plastics sorted from ASR have possibility to use for vehicle parts with optimal 1^st and 2^nd sorting.
