Since China promulgated the mandatory waste classification policy in 2017, the Bonus point system (BPS) has been introduced by many cities in China as an economic incentive to promote the waste separation behavior. This study took Dongying City as the research target and used 8 months waste collection data to analyze the impact of BPS on the community participation rate and recycling rate. First, the calculation community participation rate and recycling rate were defined, and then used the multiple regression analysis to clarify the indicators that affect the changing of participation rate and recycling rate. The analysis results show that the participation rate and recycling rate increased over time during the research period, but the growth value of both two are gradually decrease over time. When the community participation rate and recycling rate reach a saturation degree, there will be a gradually decreasing trend. Therefore, this research suggests that waste sorting education and publicity should be carried out in the later stage to ensure residents' persistent waste separation behavior.
