Calculations have been made of the pressure differential between the outside and inside curves of a 360-deg. bend flowmeter, and a theoretical formula for discharge coefficients in the case of turbulent flow was presented. Some theoretical considerations were also given to the discharge coefficients in the case of laminar flow. The discharge coefficients for five 360-deg. bend flowmeters with radius ratio in the range from 7 to 28 were measured in the Reynolds number range from 2×102 to 3×105. Empirical formulas for the discharge coefficients, which are backed by theoretical considerations and found in good agreement with experiments, were presented for both cases of laminar and turbulent flow.
