Abstract
Experimental investigations on the characteristics of the flow around a square prism at angles of attack (0°≤α≤45°) were carried out in the range of subcritical Reynolds numbers. For α<15°, the perfect separated regime may be further subdivided into synunetric and unsymuetric flows at α=5°. For 15°<a≤35°, the lower separated shear layer reattaches and a separation bubble exists on the lower surface. For 35°<a≤45°, the flow field resembles one about a wedge. It has become clear that the rms value of the fluctuating pressure is closely related to another characteristics corresponding to those of the flow patterns.
