Abstract

Plate impact experiments with PVDF (PolyVinylidene DiFluoride) stress gauges to determine the dynamic mechanical properties of the ceramics Si₃N₄, SiC and TiB₂ were conducted using a shock gun system. From the experiments, we obtained the Hugoniot curves and the Hugoniot elastic limits of the ceramics.
