Abstract
Drop weight tear test was conducted and arrowhead marking (AHM) was observed. To elucidate the formation mechanism of AHM, dynamic finite element analyses and fractographic analyses were conducted. As a result, it was understood that the AHM comprises multiple separations and shear fracture. And also, FEM analysis showed that the crack-tip strain fluctuated and accumulated, which corresponded to the appearance of the AHMs on the fracture surface. Furthermore, Interval of the AHMs corresponded to the natural frequency of specimen times crack propagation velocity at low temperature.
