Abstract

Left ventricular enlargement (LVE) typically indicates a common occurrence in cardiac remodeling, closely associated with heart failure (HF). Pulse waves, serving as messengers of the cardiovascular system, have been confirmed to reflect cardiac conditions. In this study we developed a machine learning (ML) methodology to predict LVE in patients with HF based on pulse wave signals from 264 HF patients. The proposed ML methods have been verified as capable of achieving effective classification and regression with excellent performance, thereby revealing the feasibility and potential of identifying LVE patients based on pulse wave signals.
