Study of Press-Processing Methods for Brittle Sheets

Abstract

Previous papers dealt with punching a hole and blanking of sheet glass under extremely high pressure. In this research, the relationship between punching a hole and blanking is investigated under various conditions, and the processing conditions to simultaneously obtain a high-quality hole and blank are clarified. Besides sheet glass, sheets of alumina ceramics and other materials are successfully processed by these methods.
