Abstract
This study discusses the relation between the continuum properties of a Cosserat composite and its microstructure. The averaging theorem necessary of extracting the overall quantities from their microscopic counterpart is presented. Numerical method to solve this problem is also considered and used to analyze some scale-dependent deformation behaviors of porous materials.
