Abstract
The industrial furnace for chemical process service has been designed by conventional method based on experimental data. The difficulty of analyzing the furnace is that the heat source (burner flame temperature) and the heat sink (chemical reaction inside of heating tube) affect each other. In order to estimate accurate heat transfer to the heating tube, combustion and thermal radiation, and process chemical reaction must be solved simultaneously. The practical furnace analysis has been developed by the significant development of computer hard ware and simulation technologies. This paper reports the recent achievement of process furnace design by using numerical simulation.
