Abstract
A loop current model designs exciting coils to generate the desired magnetic field distribution by means of an inverse approach. A set of current dipoles represents a closed-loop current element, always satisfying the current continuity. The coil region is filled with the closed-loop current elements to derive a system of equations. Solving this ill-posed linear system of equations gives unknown current distribution from the data of desired magnetic field distribution. The current distribution shows the coil design. The GVSPM performs the accurate solutions though accompanied with the row-wise rectangular system matrix.
