Abstract
A numerical model for flud simulations in the presence of solid bodies of complex geometry has been developed by combining the immersed boundary method and the CIP/multi-moment finite volume method. The CIP/multi-moment finite volume method, so called VSIAM3, provides a suitable framework for accommodating the immersed boundary method. The resulting model is quite computationally efficient and robust. Numerical tests have been carried out to validate the proposed model.
