Abstract
Ball-Screw is composed of Screw-Rod, Nut and a number of Balls, which has a smooth motion due to the rolling friction instead of the sliding friction. While the balls are moving, they show a complex motion rather than a simple revolution, due to the local slippage, which has a significant influence on its smooth motion transmission and its durability. In the case of ball bearings, rolling bodies show a complex motion even in a 2/D ring slot, whereas in the case of ball-screw, they show a more complex motion due to the spiral slot shape and reaction from ball circuit. In this paper, with the practical use of the tool for multi body dynamics, the motion of balls in a slot is numerically verified, as well as the level of friction force.
