Abstract
A condition was found in which an elliptical crack holds the elliptical shape in a fatigue crack propagation, and accordingly the crack size change can be predicted using the theoretical stress intensity factor. Under this condition, a test analysis was carried out using the crack propagation analysis system developed by JNES, and the calculated result was shown to be in good agreement with the theoretical one.
