Abstract
In the one-dimensional and the two-dimensional photonic crystal which puts the rod in order periodically, if the dielectric constant of the periodically arranged dielectrics is modulated periodically and another different periodicity is introduced, it is known that photonic band structure becomes fractal. In this paper, dual-periodic metallic photonic crystal is considered. The one is composed by stacking various-types layers in which the metal rods are arranged infinitely in parallel at regular intervals. The transmission properties of the dual-periodic metallic photonic crystal are analyzed using the vector KKR method. By introducing double periodicity into a metal photonic crystal, it was shown that division of photonic bands occurs and that the design of a useful band gap is possible.
