Abstract

An autoregulation system of cerebral blood flow may relate to the complex structure of the cerebral network. Computational simulation is helpful to gain a detailed understanding of the autoregulation mechanism. In this study, we constructed a cerebrovasculature network model by coupling medical image-based modeling with mathematical modeling and performed a very large-scale CFD simulation of cerebral circulation using the K supercomputer. Our model is helpful to understand the relationship between the complex structure of the cerebrovascular networks and the hemodynamics of the cerebral circulation.
