Abstract

For a fast, high-resolution river flow, we solve the shallow water equations using a novel third-order MUSCL, Local Lax-Friedrichs and 3rd TVD-RK numerical scheme. For acceleration, adaptive block-based computation and multi-GPU techniques are applied. The model is tested using a real 1-m domain on eight river routes. The multi-GPU computation achieves high performance and a 24-hour simulation can be obtained in 6.1 hours using four A100 GPUs.
