In this study, the equivalence of dislocation and disclination is mechanically considered for the first time. Disclinations have been discovered and applied in a variety of materials, and their analysis is becoming increasingly important. Therefore, the possibility of developing a disclination theory using the equivalence of dislocation and disclination has been investigated. Previous studies have shown the equivalence of models and equations for dislocation and disclination. However, mechanical equivalence of dislocation and disclination has not been proven because disclination theory is scale-free and involves complex deformations. In this study, the scale limitation of the disclination theory is removed and the equivalence of dislocation array and disclination dipole is mechanically proved by using the finite element method.
