Abstract

In view of the application of nondestructive evaluation using laser ultrasonic measurement, we consider the determination of scatterers using topological derivatives and level set method for two-dimensional elastic wave problems. We attempt to apply the level set method to a void-crack mixture problem. We can determine the number, location, and shape of voids simultaneously in numerical experiments. We also determine the number of cracks and their rough positions and directions using the mean of the level set function.
