Abstract
The self-synchronized phenomena between two metronomes fixed on a pendulum-like horizontal plate are investigated by applying the improved shooting method. It is clarified from the analysis of several models with different values of system parameters that the metronome system has self-synchronized solutions at various frequency ratios of two metronomes and the plate. In addition, alternative formulation of variations to analyze a system with impulsive effect by the improved shooting method is derived in the differential form.
