Abstract
In recent years, light weight and high stiffness fiber-reinforced plastics (FRP) are widely used in structural components. Since the plates and shells made of these composite materials have different elastic properties depending upon the fibre-directions, the characteristics of vibration shows complex phenomena. This report presents the influence of fibre-directions and eccentricity of curved plates on the natural frequencies and natural modes are discussed. For the numerical calculations of this study are based the shallow shell theory and the Ritz's method. The result show that natural frequencies become higher by the optimal. choice of curved direction of plates and the fiber-direction.
