Abstract
The purpose of this study is to make clear that the shape of structure influence on vibration energy. The vibration energy flow is expressed by vibration intensity (VI). In this paper, we use a beam with suddenly changed cross-section. The beam is analyzed by finite element method (FEM). The vibration intensity is analyzed by finite difference method (FDM). Then, we investigate that the suddenly changed cross-section of beam influence on the vibration intensity. As a result, it is clarified that the vibration intensity is one of the effective parameter to estimate the thickness of the beam.
