Abstract
Four legs animals automatically choose the most efficient gait pattern according to the walking speed. This paper describes the mechanism of this automatic selection of gait, from the view point of the natural vibration mode. Then rigid body link model was made and analyzed, by simply modeling quadruped walk,. The results have shown that the mode shapes of this model are the same gait as animals walk.
