Abstract
This paper describes a new hybrid vibration suppression of a plate using piezoelectric elements. There are two main types to suppress the vibration of a flexible structure, one is the active vibration control and the other is the passive vibration suppression. The former is effective, but it has a problem in stability. On the other hand, the latter does not become unstable although the controlling force is small. Then, a new hybrid circuit that is stable and effective is proposed. The optimum value of each element of this circuit is determined by a simple formulation derived by the two fixed points method. Its performance, which works better than the passive vibration suppression circuit, is verified by the simulation and the experiment.
