Abstract
In this paper, the mechanism and dynamic stability of gas-lubricated bearing of rotational vibration are considered. The bearing stiffness and damping which are generated in compressible fluid at the gap of bearing are calculated. The equation of motion is derived using mechanical impedance which is calculated from the bearing stiffness and damping. Based on the derived equation, the stability of the behavior of the journal is investigated. Finally parameter studies are shown.
