Abstract
We have experimentally made clear the three-dimensional unsteady characteristics of the wake vortices at the swept flat plate. The coherent structure at the swept flat plate is very different from the case of two-dimensional condition. The swept flat plate has a large span-wise correlation length compared to the two-dimensional case. The span-wise velocity in the dead air region is generated by the rolling up of the wake vortices. The information of the wake vortex rolling up at the lower side spreads toward to the upper side and the wake vortex at the upper side rolls up in turn.
