Abstract
This paper deals with self-excited vibrations of overflow pipes due to fluid discharge. In this study, the experiments and analysis are carried out to determine the relation among the lag time, the inflow rate, the flow velocity, the fluid force at elbow part and fall height of the fluid falling along the vertical pipe. The excitation mechanism of the self-excited vibrations is discussed experimentally and theoretically.
