Abstract
In the blood pressure measurement, the auscultatory method that is standard and an easier method by the automatic sphygmomanometer are used widely. It is known that the measurement results by the two methods are sometimes rather different. In order to investigate the cause of the phenomenon, a linear model with single degree of freedom is made for the structure from the blood vessel wall to the cuff in this study. The model is assumed that it has the time varying coefficients because the blood vessel expands and contracts periodically. The method to identify them by using an optimization method was proposed and the effectiveness of it is shown by the identification results.
