Abstract
In the previous paper, the authors proposed passive and hybrid dampers using a lever-type displacement magnifying mechanism. In this paper, a new type of dynamic vibration absorber using the lever-type magnifying mechanism was proposed. The optimum condition of the dynamic vibration absorber was determined numerically, and the transmissibility of the primary system with the absorber was calculated. The calculated result was compared with that for a conventional type absorber system, and the effect of the magnifying mechanism was confirmed. The trial dynamic vibration absorber was made, and the frequency responses and the seismic responses of a primary system with the trial absorber were measured. The experimental results were compared with the calculated results, and the effects of vibration suppression of the absorber and the validity of the calculations were confirmed.
