Abstract
Semi-passive control has been successfully applied to vibration control in the former studies. In this study semi-passive control using piezocelamics is applied to noise isolation . In semi-passive control, the piezoceramics are connected to a shunt circuit including an inductor and switching device. The voltage of piezoelectric element generated by structure's vibration is inverted when the voltage reaches maximum. Consequently the system becomes a velocity feedback, and thus, the damping of the mechanical energy of structure is obtained. Semi-passive technique is compared with passive and active approaches in terms of control effectiveness, robustness and validity for random noise excitation
