Abstract
This work deals analytically with the optimal design of dynamic absorber for quenching squeal generated in car disk brakes. In previous our work, the analytical model of car disk brake squeal was developed. In this paper, the dynamic absorber is attached to this model, and the controlling effect of squeal of the dynamic absorber is presented. From analytical results, optimal parameter of damping ratio, the natural frequency, and the effect of mass ratio of dynamic absorber is established. Moreover, the relationship between the attachment position of dynamic absorber and the effect of that is investigated.
