Abstract
An analysis for damping of laminated beam with partially covered viscoelastic layer is presented. In this paper, vibration damping properties of three layered beam are analyzed by CEM(Complex Eigenvalue Method). Eigenvalue and eigenvector (displacement functions) are analyzed based on the Ritz method, when natural frequency, modal loss factor are obtained. The modal loss factor is defined as a ratio of imaginary part and real part for complex eigenvalues. Numerical results are presented for parameters, such as location and length for the viscoelastic layer.
