Abstract
In recent years, the rolling noises become an important problem of narrow-gauge vehicles. The noises are composed of rail noise and wheel one.As for rail noise, the characteristic of frequency are investigated by running test experimentally. However, the detail behavior does not become clear. Therefore, this paper reports the 3D characteristics of rail sound radiation obtained from FEM and BEM analysis comparing with result of narrow-gauge wheel analysis. We found that the main frequency of rail noise which occurred from bottom and flange part mainly, was 945Hz.The influences of sound reflection by slab plate are different from rail sound with wheel one.
